Pride Merch

Client: Jacks

Jacks hosts an annual Pride event each spring. I created a collection of merchandise that extended the event branding across multiple products, including t-shirts, stickers, reusable cups, and temporary tattoos. The designs were developed to celebrate the spirit of the event while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across all merchandise and customer touchpoints.

The challenge

  • Existing merchandise relied on overly bright colours that felt disconnected from the evolving event brand.

  • Previous designs were heavily tied to a single event with dates on them, making leftover stock difficult to sell once the season had ended.

  • Create merchandise that customers would genuinely want to purchase and wear beyond the event itself.

  • Develop a cohesive range of products that balanced Pride celebrations with a more considered and commercially appealing design approach.

The solution

Each year, the event branding was redesigned from scratch, creating inconsistencies across merchandise and marketing materials. As part of the event rebrand, I developed a more timeless visual identity centred around a logo that could be reused and adapted for future Pride events, creating stronger brand recognition and consistency across multiple touchpoints.

The artwork featured on the reverse of the merchandise was inspired by photography from previous Jacks Pride events, specifically drawing from one of the drag performers who had become a recognisable part of the celebration. This allowed the designs to feel authentic to specifically the Jacks event while creating a distinctive visual element that could be applied across a range of products.
